I am an illustrator and comic artist from Hong Kong, graduating this June on BA Illustration in London. My work centres around experimental narratives, risograph printing, and how characters in visual narratives break out of visual and psychological frames. I self publish comics, prints and illustrated zines under the name Southguah Stories, e.g. Drawn to Doodling (2019) in Gosh Comics and HKSOS (2019) in HK Booked: fair. Currently developing a comic book to be printed in riso, Dailongfeng Restuarant (2020).

Dailongfeng Restaurant is my comic book currently in development. The story centres around a nightmarish Cantonese teahouse of Deep Fakes: diners with distorted Instagram-filtered faces, grotesque dim-sum food and gossip talk. A young boy must break out of this spectacular facade before being assimilated into the group, or devoured.
The polarised socio-political voices in Hong Kong urged me to question the existence of alternate realities and false truths, and inspired me to explore the duality of colour-tinted narrative perspectives in risograph printing. Dailongfeng Restaurant will be completed and available for purchase late 2020.
